Painting a design on a graphic tee shirt.
I purchased this vintage graphic tee shirt online.
As I observed the shirt in preparation of painting it, I realized that a palm tree, and the sun were already on the shirt.
This was an opportunity to include these objects, and paint a beach scene around them.
The beach is one of my favorite sceneries to paint.
It is so serene to paint the sand, ocean, and sky.
I started painting by following the color wheel in mixing colors, and creating new ones.
The sun was painted a combination of red, yellow, and white.
Mixing red, yellow, white, and a hint of black created the perfect color for sand.
The tree trunk was painted brown using red, yellow, and a dab of black.
The tree leaves were painted with a mixture of blue, and yellow.
The ocean is solely painted blue , and the sky has been painted blue, yellow, and white for a mint green color.
I painted the ocean, and sky on the front of the sleeves as well.
I also painted a few black birds flying over the water.
I was challenged with choosing a color to paint the remainder of the shirt.
I changed the colors several times in my mind.
I had settled on black, but in the end, I painted the rest of the shirt the same color as the
sky.
The back of the shirt, and the back of the sleeves were spotted with light orange paint.
As I view the original white tee shirt against the painted one, it doesn't look like the same shirt.
The color adds pizazz, and it makes the shirt one of a kind.
I love abstract designs, and I am excited to mix different colors together to make unique designs on each shirt.
I would like to find a way to incorporate the graphic on each tee shirt into another design.
I don't know if I will be able to do it, but it is worth a shot.
Painting this shirt has sparked new ideas.
