Painting pink pumps.
I don't remember where, or when I purchased these shoes, but I know that I used to wear them to work often.
They were the old faithful black pumps.
They could be worn with anything.
The heel wasn't too high, so they were fairly comfortable.
Eventually, they faded into the back of my closet, and I forgot all about them.
I like to keep my shoes in their original boxes.
One day while cleaning, and organizing, I began looking through my shoeboxes.
I came across this pair, and said to myself, "Oh yeah."
I had no plans to wear these shoes anymore.
I had started using leather paint by this point, and thought these shoes would make a great project.
When I decided to give these shoes a facelift, I knew that any color that I chose would be flattering.
I chose pink because I wanted a feminine color, and I also wanted a color that would stand out.
Even if the shoes weren't worn often, they would make an impact when they were.
I struggled a bit with keeping pink paint off of the parts of the shoes that were supposed to remain black.
In the future, I will take the time to tape the parts of the shoes that are not to be painted.
Yes, it is time consuming, but it is worth it.
I would rather take a little time taping the shoes, and be pleased with the final result.
I have now painted about eight pair of shoes, and I can't say that any of them have been particularly easy.
They have all been sandals, and pumps. Oh...and one pair of boots.
The experience has been different with each pair that I have painted.
I am now in progress with painting a second pair of boots..
These are a pair that I have had for a while, and they were originally brown.
I decided to spice things up a little, and paint them a bright yellow.
This color is a little out of my comfort zone, but I think I'm up for it.
