Hand Painted Coin Purses, Wallet, and Card Holder

Hand painted coin purses, wallet, and card holder.

These are the vintage accessories that I hand painted:  a wallet, two coin purses, and a card holder.

I purchased these items online.

I am transitioning to only painting on handbags, and accessories, and these items fit perfectly.

What I appreciated most about these items is that they were worn and weathered.

These are my favorite type of handbags and accessories to paint.

When the handbags and accessories are in this condition, it is easy to notice the beautiful transformation that takes place.

Hand Painted Coin Purses, Wallet, and Card Holder: The Process

I started by cleaning the outside of each accessory with white vinegar to remove any dirt, or dust particles.

I first painted the wallet, which was especially weathered.

I decided to paint the outside black to provide contrast between the outside and inside of the wallet.

The inside of the wallet was in much better shape.

It was originally medium brown, and I painted it dark brown.

The wallet now looks shiny and new.

I then painted the cardholder.

It was originally dark brown.

It looked so plain in its original color, so I decided to go with beige to brighten it up.

I painted a tree on the front for even more brightness.

The pink leaves added a feminine touch.

The tree was not difficult to paint because the surface of the card holder is flat, and mimicked paper, or canvas.

The inside of the card holder was painted beige as well.

Next, I painted a coin purse.

I forgot to take a photo before I started painting it lilac. (This was my first color choice).

I didn't like the look of the lilac, so I painted it black.

To add color to the black, I painted a red bird on a gold branch.

The leaves on the branch are pink.

Last, I painted a brown coin purse lilac, and mint green.

Why these two colors?

I really like both colors, and thought they would look good together.

I know that these are not colors that are usually seen together, but in my opinion, they work.

Also, my goal was to paint the accessories with bright, bold colors as opposed to the brown.

I enjoyed painting these accessories, and look forward to painting more.
