Painting on a graphic tee.
I purchased this graphic tee shirt from an online thrift store.
It is vintage, and it looked a little grungy (which I loved).
It was a dark grayish color with a graphic pertaining to the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I immediately thought to paint it black, magenta, and gold, but these colors changed once I actually started painting.
I'm not sure why I chose this color, but I started with yellow.
I then added red.
And white.
I finished painting by adding black.
I was totally pleased when I had finished.
I was glad that I had chosen the colors that I did.
I must say, however, that I think the black, magenta and gold would have been equally pleasing.
There is a delicate balance in knowing what colors to paint on theta shirt.
Right before I finished, I started to add more black paint.
I stopped myself as I realized that the tee shirt was completed.
Most women prefer tee shirts that are fitted, and have a v-neck.
Once upon a time, these were the type of tee shirts that I gravitated to.
Recently, my preference has changed.
I now lean toward boxy, crew neck tee shirts, like the one shown here.
I find these type of shirts to be more comfortable.
There is no pulling, tugging, or tightness against the skin.
I like that the paint strokes are not uniform.
I purposely painted the strokes in different directions.
The different shapes will also give each shirt a unique look.
I like the way the colors blend and mesh together.
The white paint adds a rustic look to the tee shirt, and I find that appealing.
With that said, there is always room for improvement.
I need a lighter touch when painting on the actual graphic.
I would like the graphic to be lightly touched by the paint, but not hidden from the tee shirt design.
In seeking to perfect my work, I learn, grow, and have fun.
