Hand painted graphic tee shirts.
Everyone loves a comfortable and/or fashionable tee shirt.
Tee shirts pair well with jeans, jean skirts, cargo pants, and joggers.
A nice tee shirt can jazz up any outfit, especially if it has a specific design.
Graphic tee shirts are nice, and vintage graphic tee shirts are even better.
Add a little paint, and you have a tee shirt that no one else has.
You can even pour paint on a tee shirt, or create your own graphic.
I believe that I have a good eye for putting colors together.
I normally stare at the shirt before getting started.
I then select colors that I think will complement the color of the shirt.
The colors don't necessarily need to "match."
They just need to blend well together, and look good with the original color of the tee shirt.
I have learned over time that less is more when it comes to painting garments.
At times, though, I do forget, and have to be reminded.
The reason for less is that too much paint can cause the clothing item to become hard, and stiff.
I want the fabric to remain as flexible as possible.
As a result, I try to get as little paint on the brush as possible.
I then smudge the paint lightly over the surface of the fabric.
It is my intent not to cover the entire graphic with paint.
I lightly paint the graphic so that it is somewhat exposed.
I once purchased a vintage "Angry Birds" hoodie.
I made the mistake of completely painting over the birds.
I showed the hoodie to my sister after it was painted.
She laughed, and said, "Why did you paint over the 'Angry Birds'?"
It was at that moment I realized what a big mistake I had made.
Don't get me wrong.
The hoodie had a beautiful abstract design, but it could have been enhanced by the "Angry Birds" graphic.
I am now careful to not let that happen again.
I recently painted a ballerina graphic tee shirt, and I enhanced the graphic, but did not paint over it.
The art of painting is a never ending learning process.
