Painting a pullover hoodie.
I purchased this hoodie at an open vintage marketplace.
This is a place where everyone rummages through the clothing.
Although it is a very tedious process, it can also be fun because you never know when you might stumble upon something you really like.
That was the case with this item.
Everyone likes a hoodie, right?
And, this one was unique.
It had meshed fabric in the center, and ruffled fabric at the bottom.
I was sure I could paint this hoodie to enhance it in some way.
It took me a while to actually start painting this item.
It hung in my closet for several months.
Why...?
Because I wasn't sure if I wanted to paint the entire hoodie, or only the meshed fabric.
After a while, I lost my motivation to paint it at all.
I came across the hoodie one day when I was looking in my closet for something else.
I pulled it out, and pondered more about ways I could paint it.
I finally decided that I would only paint the fabric.
I needed a color that would complement the original navy blue.
I decided to go with copper.
After applying the copper, something seemed to be lacking.
It was too harsh.
I needed to blend in another color to soften the harshness of the copper.
I thought red might be a good choice.
I dabbed red fabric paint on top of the copper.
These two colors flattered one another perfectly.
Painting is already so much fun.
But, when I choose the right color combination, it gives me an extra boost.
I do not always get it right.
Sometimes, I am able to make corrections by painting over my mistakes.
Other times, I have to totally trash the project.
I have many unfinished paint jobs.
I either did not like how the design was coming out, or I lost my motivation after I started.
Nevertheless, I am learning to be consistent in creating, even when I do not "feel" it.
