Painting Brown Boots Blue

Painting brown boots blue.

My sister has been cleaning out her closet, and throwing old things out.

She has several pairs of shoes that she has not worn in years, and she has gifted me with many to paint.

One day she asked if I wanted this pair of boots.

Of course I said yes.

The boots are leather, and in good condition.

They didn't necessarily need to be painted, but I was up for the challenge.

Painting Brown Boots Blue - The Process

I was excited to get started.

I used a small sponge as my painting tool.

I dabbed a little bit of blue leather paint on the sponge, and transferred it to the boots.

I continued this pattern until I had painted every side.

In doing this, there was as much of the brown exposed, as there was blue.

The boots actually looked good with a minimal amount of blue paint.

A few days later, I wrestled with the idea of adding more paint.

I went back and forth in my mind, and finally decided to add more blue.

The boots looked great both ways.

Even with the additional blue, the boots have fragments of the original brown exposed.

Painting Brown Boots Blue - The Star of the Show

It's always fun to see a clothing item become more aesthetically pleasing.

Even though the boots didn't need to be painted, the paint did give them an upgrade.

They went from being a nice pair of boots, to being an eye-catching pair of boots.

You don't see boots this color every day.

These boots would make an entire outfit stand out.

It has been said that color can uplift one's mood, and I imagine that wearing these boots would do just that.

Painting Brown Boots Blue - If They Were My Size

If only these boots were my size.

I would definitely keep them.

I'm not the type of person that goes out of her way to be noticed.

At times, I go out of my way NOT to be noticed.

I do admit, however, that it would be pretty cool to be stopped, and asked where I purchased these boots.

It would also be awesome to say that I painted them.

As I think it over, I guess it's okay to be noticed every now and then.
