I painted a peach dress with red paint some years back, and I came across a video I made that shows the final outcome.
I like the way it turned out, and I hope you do too.
I actually purchased this dress new from a local retail store.
It was purchased for a fashion show that I had.
My initial plan was to only feature used painted clothing in the fashion show.
But, as the day of the show quickly approached, I needed to purchase clothing fast.
As a result, I went to the mall to buy clothing.
About half of the clothing items in the fashion show were used, and the other half were new.
The dress was peach, with black trim along the neckline, waist, and sides.
I toiled over what color paint would best complement the original color of the dress.
I enjoy having uncommon color combinations in my work.
For this reason, I decided to go with red.
I painted along the black trim.
I also painted the skirt of the dress.
The texture of the fabric on the skirt caused "blotchiness" when the paint was applied.
I believe I used a sponge brush to paint this dress, and the brush may have caused this as well.
This type of brush does not move smoothly across the surface of most fabrics.
I don't mind the blotchy look because it makes the dress look unique.
I enjoy painting dresses because I prefer to wear a dress over pants.
When I paint a dress, I like to ensure that it keeps its femininity, and daintiness.
I would never choose a paint color or design that would cause the dress to look harsh.
My favorite color combination is magenta with orange.
Magenta is very girly, and orange is neutral (in my opinion), but when the two colors come together, they look feminine.
A would choose to paint a plain black dress over any other color.
Every color matches black, so I could be free to choose any color(s) on the color wheel.
