Hand painted shoes. Such a cool concept.
It's an opportunity to take a pair of old, dingy shoes, and make them vibrant again.
One can experiment with making the shoes a new color, and even create a design on the shoes, if so inclined.
There really are no rules.
The shoes are original. They are one of a kind. No one else has a pair like them.
So far, I have painted on sandals, boots, pumps, sneakers and clogs.
I can now add flats to the list.
Depending on the fabric, the shoes may be painted with fabric paint, or leather paint.
I think I like painting leather shoes with leather paint the best.
I recently painted a pair of black leather boots, and they are now turquoise.
Each time I have painted shoes I have given them about three to four coats of paint.
It's amazing to see the transformation.
The first pair of shoes that I painted was a pair of white leather sandals that I purchased at a second hand store.
I had the shoes for a while before I decided to take the plunge.
It was a little messy at first, but I eventually got the hang of it.
Yellow was my color of choice.
When I was finished, the shoes looked as if they had been yellow all along.
I also painted athletic wear, and a pair of boots.
I absolutely love painting.
I am so grateful to have this wonderful outlet.
It is very rewarding to see the finished product.
It's also great that I am able to clearly process my thoughts and ideas as I am painting.
It is so therapeutic.
Because I am an introvert, it allows me time to get refreshed, and re-energized.
When painting shoes, one must be very detailed, as there can be a lot of small sections to paint.
This is especially true if the shoes have straps, and buckles.
I personally love painting intricate details. It is thought provoking, and fun at the same time.
When I am focused, and in a zone, there is nothing else I would rather be doing.
